Hey there! If this is your first time here, please consider subscribing to the RSS feed or the MamaDivas.com newsletter
I just wanted to let all the parents and grandparents of infants and toddlers out there know about this safety recall, just in case you haven’t heard about it yet but may be affected. It involves the top tether hook of Britax Marathon child restraints with the model #s E9L06, E9W06, or E906 and were manufactured from May 23, 2006 through July 28, 2006.
Apparently, if you use the top tether when you connect the restaint in the car and you have a child who weighs over 50lbs is in the seat, “upon vehicle impact, the top tether hook may open and have the potential to release from the tether anchor. In the event of a crash, the child may move forward further….” You can read more about the recall here. If you have a model that is affected and you did not get a notice or hadn’t registered your car seat, you can also register for the recall there, as they have sent out replacement tethers to owners of the models that may be affected. This recall was announced on October 19, 2007.
Click on the thumbnails below to read the notices and see the replacement tether that was sent to owners of the possibly affected Britax Marathon child restraints who registered their seat on the Britax site.
If the photo shows up blurry and you can’t read it, click on it to make sure it’s being shown at 100% and not scaled down.
Remember to check your car seat if you own a Britax Marathon!
