SpellQuizzer Spelling Software – Created By a Dad with Serious Learning in Mind

Have you ever just looked at your kid’s latest spelling test and shook your head wishing you there was a way you could help your child master these spelling words that have so stumped her without the frustration of a mommy and me study session?  Let’s face it, of course a child might want help, but not all kids want you to sit in front of them  spewing spelling words at ‘em.

That’s where SpellQuizzer Spelling Software comes in.  Originally created by software engineer Dan Hite as a means to help his own children with their spelling homework, SpellQuizzer is now available to any and all parents who want a simple, easy and straightforward way to help make studying for that spelling quiz easy peasy.  With an easy to learn interface reminiscent of Windows 95, parents have the option to download pre-populated 4th grade spelling lists provided on the SpellQuizzer site or create custom lists filled with spelling words for their children.

What’s great is that kids and parents have the option to create an audio recording for each word (sweet feature!).  For example, you say the word, then use it in a sentence, spelling bee style!  When you try SpellQuizzer, what you get is an interactive experience that I feel can help enhance your child’s ability to really and truly grasp and learn the spelling of each and every word without feeling pressured and frustrated while practicing.

I think the software is so easy and simple to use, that it really is a must for any parent who feel their child needs a little help with learning her spelling.  It would also make a wonderful teaching tool for those who homeschool their kids, as well.  The interface is intuitive and super easy to navigate, so even the most computer-illiterate mommies and daddies will be more than able to use SpellQuizzer.

You can’t judge a book by it’s cover, and the same goes with software.  While SpellQuizzer isn’t all fancy flash animation and dancing monkeys, it’s an affordable ($29.95), effective piece of educational software, and if you use it to work with your child struggling with spelling, I think you’re bound to see results.

For more information about how the software works, visit SpellQuizzer Spelling Software’s website for some video demonstrations and to download a 30 day free trial.
