Shop for Contact Lenses at Lensshopper to Search Deals and Save Money

lensshopper At Lensshopper.com, you can’t actually buy contact lenses, but you’ll be able to find and compare the most competitive deals from all the best discount contact lens sites all in one place. This is definitely a subject close to my heart, as I am, unfortunately, quite hopelessly myopic. Not only is the cost of laser eye surgery out of my budget at this time, but it also scares the bejeezers out of me. glassesSo, until I save up enough money to pay the 80% I’d have to pay after the insurance for lasik and until I get over my fear of having my eyes messed with, I have to rely on glasses and contacts.

If you’re nearsighted like me and rely on contact lenses, eyethen you must know firsthand exactly how expensive contacts can be when you buy them directly from your optometrist’s or opthamologist’s office. You’ve either got to shell out a lot, or hope that your insurance covers most of it (which many don’t.) Even if your insurance does cover part or most of one order, what if you need new contact lenses before you reach the next eligibility period? That’s when hunting online for contacts is pretty much the only choice you have if you don’t want to pay some exorbitant amount of money.

Let’s face it, when you have to choose between buying wipes for your kid and paying full price for contacts, the former will always take precedence, so we have to make every effort and use every resource we can to make sure we’re getting the best and the most for our money. Savvy online shoppers know that there are definitely choices when it comes to contact lens shopping, so which deal is really the best deal? LensShopper actually lays these contact lens deals and discounts, and even coupon codes, out for you in a straightforward, easy to navigate website. eye1You can compare pricing of all different contact lens brands and selections from online purveyors of contacts, like the household name 1-800-Contacts, to my favorite VisionDirect, to others like Coastal Contacts and more.

The website itself could stand to be slightly more streamlined with a slightly more sophisticated and eye-catching logo, but when we’re shopping for a great deal or searching for a working coupon code, is that really what we’re after? Not so much… we just want to save money! Besides, everything you’re looking for is easy to find on LensShopper.com, from the deals you’re looking for, to FAQs on wearing lenses, to information on eye diseases, to their “Ask our Eye Care Professional” feature where you can get a personalized answer to whatever questions you have about contact lenses or the website itself.

Sounds like you need a flexible spending account (FSA). An FSA reiumburses you for any expenses that aren’t covered by your insurance and it’s tax-free!

@ Kira – You’re going to think I’m crazy, but the reason why I don’t want to get an FSA is because I don’t wan to have to put away that much money for the year, when I’m not sure if I’ll really use it or not! I don’t like the idea of possibly losing it if we don’t happen to get sick or need meds or anything like that. When I was still working full time we had two insurances, and they coordinated so we never paid much out of pocket, but even with just my hubby’s insurance (now that I’m just part time), his union actually reimburses us for copayments and things like that. I don’t know.. for such a minute amount yearly, it’s really not all that practical for me. I’ll probably start contributing around the time my son needs braces or when I finally take the plunge with lasik, lol.
