The On the Go Mom’s Christmas Wishlist

Hey there! If this is your first time here, please consider subscribing to the RSS feed or the MamaDivas.com newsletter
Modern moms: we are pretty damn busy, aren’t we?
Whether you’re shopping for a stay at home mom, a work at home mom, a full time working mom, or anything in between, it’s no secret that with juggling the family, dinner, doctor’s appointments, playdates, meetings (oh does the list go on), and whatever else life throws at us, this list of gift ideas will make shopping for that busy mom (who’s always on the go) easy as pie!

momAgenda – $48.00 – The momAgenda All-in-One (available in cherry and ocean) is a mom’s one stop for all her organizational needs! With a stain-resistant cover, a monthly calendar, folios, a notepad and forms to help you organize everything in mom’s day, the momAgenda All-in-One will prove an indispensable part of your life. It can even be customized with mom’s name, if you choose.
Sumdex She Rules Jacqueline Courier Laptop Tote – $99.99 – This chic, sleep laptop tote is available in gold (shown), black and orange, and is roomy enough for a laptop (up to 15.4”) PLUS a couple of diapers, a travel pack of wipes, your wallet and more.
If you’re looking to get her a new phone plan, I suggest going with Sprint and getting her either the HTC Touch Pro, or the HTC Touch Diamond. Both smartphones feature touchscreens, but the Touch also has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for those who’d prefer it so. The hubster just got the Touch, and I must say I am j-E-a-L-o-U-s because I still have my blegh and now obsolete {ugh} MotoQ. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1, and is on the Sprint’s super-fast EVDO network, so you’ll constantly be connected. In my opinion, Sprint’s data plans are quite affordable compared to others, and the service is awesome (at least on Long Island and in NYC). When we went to Lake George this past summer, mrQ still had Tmobile, and he was never able to get a signal up there, but I always had full bars with Sprint. Basically, this phone will keep techie mom connected, while allowing her the ability to sync her calendar and contacts from her PC to her phone, PLUS she’ll be able to take stellar on-the-go family photos and videos with the 3.2 megapixel camera.
Kindle – $359.00 – Amazon’s wireless, portable reading device is perfect for busy mama bibliophiles like me. With a Kindle, that mom on your wish list will be able to keep her current novel with her in a sleek, portable and easy to carry device so she can catch a page… or paragraph… during downtime, without cluttering up her bag with a bulky book. Plus, the Kindle make reading books more eco-friendly!
Garmin’s nüvi 250W Portable GPS- $199.99 – This portable GPS device will go from your recipient’s car to her purse and back again, helping her to get wherever she needs to go. (Psst..just make sure she doesn’t do what this guy did…) Hey, nothing sucks more (for us AND the environment) than having to print out endless copies of itineraries, routes and directions. Everything just gets lost, then, well, so do you.
MBT Footwear – These innovative shoes featuring Masai Barefoot Technology range in price from $179.99 – $390, and while the price is a bit steep, these babies are so worth it and are definitely perfect for the mom on the go. “Innovative MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) footwear is brilliantly engineered to boost muscle activity, tone your body and improve balance and posture as you walk—even as you stand.” It’s almost too good to be true, huh? Just from walking around as usual, Mom can get a workout she’ll hardly notice. You can get them directly from Naturalizer, or from PlanetShoes.com.
Audio book gift certificate – Get that busy mom on your list a gift certificate or gift subscription to Audible, eMusicor iTunes so she’ll be able to download audio books that she can listen to in the car or on her iPod. That way she’ll finally be able to get a nice juicy Danielle Steel novel in. Or, better yet: rent that books she’s been meaning to read from the library, and record yourself reading them. That’ll make for some very special audio recording just for her and will definitely show you care, lol.

Want to show her that you really care? Give that busy mom a certificate (with no expiration date) for a massage, a night off (yep, that means babysitting!), a homemade dinner by you, a certificate for a whole week’s worth of laundry, a spa pedicure or something else like that. Offering to take some of the weight off of her shoulders or giving her a present that helps do so she gets some “me” time or giving her a present that pampers her will be a present that busy, on the go mom on your holiday shopping list will truly appreciate.
