CD Review & Giveaway of Kidz Bop 16 and Kidz Bop Christmas

kidz bop 16 Kidz Bop 16 features some of the most recent tracks to fill our Top 40 airwaves, done up and radio edit-ized Kidz Bop style (aka kid friendly with no F***s A**s or B****s about it).  It’s sixteen tracks of pop music your kids, from tots to pre-tWeens, can listen to without you having to worry about questionable language or lyrics.  No doubt you’re familiar with the Kidz Bop CD from all their commercials on TV, with all the bouncy children rocking it out in all their pop-star-to-be glory, cranking out covers of the latest hits from artists like Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston and more.

**Giveaway information is located at the bottom of this review**

littleQ’s face lit up in a big cheesy smile as soon as the Kidz Bop version of Boom Boom Pow came on.  I know, it’s a pretty funny for that to be a 3 year old’s favorite song, but he loves it, and of course the Kidz Bop version is clean and both innuendo and foul language free.

Going through the songs, it sounds to me that the original instrumental tracks are always used, which is great because the songs don’t sound fake, they just sound like kiddie friendly remixes.  I’m not a big fan of the high pitched group choruses in the slower songs because it just doesn’t go, like in the rendition of Beyonce’s If I Were a Boy.  It sounded okay to me until you hit the chorus.  Well, littleQ loved almost all the songs (he recognized them from the radio of course), and as far as awesomeness-of-song quality, it’s his opinion that matters.

littleQ’s favorite track is Boom Boom Pow (of course!), and mine has to be Sinai Rose’s LOL.  Her voice is that of a total R&B Hip Hop n’ Pop princess: bubbly yet smooth and strong.  To me, LOL doesn’t sound like the “kiddie” version of anything!  It’s a fun, funky song that I really wouldn’t mind blasting in the car.  If you buy the CD, it also comes with a free bonus download of Sinai’s Being Myself on the Kidz Bop website.

You can also buy the individual songs or the entire album on iTunes. Kidz Bop Kids - Kidz Bop 16

kidz bop christmas Kidz Bop Christmas is a great way to introduce kiddos to Christmas songs they can sing along to.  It’s good to have playing in the background for holiday get-togethers where there will be a lot of children present, or as the kid’s background music if they’re relegated to carry on their monkey business another room.  I enjoyed the Kidz Bop version of Santa Claus is coming to Town, which again is performed by Sinai Rose.  I wish the performances all had that extra splash of energy and panache that is present in Sinai’s songs.

Bottom line: The Kidz Bop cd’s are meant for children, and I suggest them as stocking stuffers and gifts for children ages 7 and under.  You might get away with getting this for a slightly older child, but it would definitely depend on the kid’s maturity level.  In my opinion it’s way too cutesy for children any older than 6 or 7 years old.

Hello there,

Sounds like the perfect thing to try out on my niece I’m going down to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with. My youngest is in college currently, but I was looking for something fun for my little niece and nephew for the weekend – Thank you!

I love the Little Drummer Boy by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. There is something about the way their voices sound together.

I was first introduced to KidzBop via McDonalds’ Happy Meals. If I hear their version of Hilary Duff’s “Love” one more time, it is very possible my ears will start bleeding. Or spontaneously combust. One or the other.

That being said: free stuff! I do like me some “Silver Bells.”
