The older we ladies get, it’s pretty much inevitable that we will begin to worry about wrinkles, sagging and uneven skin tone. Yikes! The joy of being being a woman, eh?
Dual Source Vitamin C&C Facial Serum (MSRP $44.95 for a 0.5oz bottle) from the cosmeceutical company Janson Beckett is touted as an “Intensive Age-Defying Cosmetic Skin Treatment" that, when used twice daily, works to perform three different actions: smoothing and tightening the appearance of skin by increasing collagen production (haha on you, wrinkles!), repairing and preventing sun damage with its antioxidant rich Vitamin C formula and evening out skin tone by lightening brown spots and discoloration.
The two main ingredients are two of the supposed best forms of Vitamin C – Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Sodium Ascorbate, both of which help to stimulate cell and collagen growth in the skin. Thrown into the mix are a variety of other plant extracts that are supposed to help to lighten those brown spots: lemon, mulberry, lime and bitter orange extracts. The manufacturer recommends that the serum be used in conjunction with their other anti-aging skincare products but can also be used as a standalone product within your skincare routine.
Vitamin C&C serum has got a pretty awesome list of benefits, and for nearly $90/ounce, it better deliver, right? The good news about the size is that you need just a little dab to smooth lightly on areas on your face, so the 0.5oz bottle should last you a long while. Please read on for my thoughts on this fountain of youth(ful skin) in a bottle.
I’ve been using the serum for about five days now, dabbing a bit around the corners of my lips and eyes, between my brows and a little bit under my eyes; basically smoothing the serum around areas that are prone to wrinkling. Here’s the thing, I’m 23 so I don’t exactly have permanent laugh lines or crows feet yet (and I’m not looking forward to them!), so I am unable to tell you if this product can do much to erase the look of wrinkles, but I did notice that my under eye area seems a bit brighter and less saggy. With all my insomnia laden nights as the mama of two young boys and an iPhone game, internet and social media addict, of course I have under eye circles, and I think, though it could just be wishful thinking, that the skin under my eyes seem a little less buggy than they usually do sans makeup. My under eye circles haven’t disappeared, but my eyes look slightly less tired without the help of concealer or foundation.
I’m confident that this product truly does help stimulate collagen production and promote the self repair of sun damage. However, it’s one of those products that is perfect for skin maintenance, and while it should help to smooth the look of your skin, I doubt that it’ll completely reverse any deep set wrinkles, because it’s not Botox in a dropper. What it can do is help us to prevent wrinkles and keep our skin healthy before and after sun exposure. If you can swallow the price tag (or if you can get this on your Christmas or Mother’s Day wishlist), I do think it’s worth using to help keep your facial skin looking young and even toned. After taking a look at the user submitted “before and after” photos on the Janson Beckett website, I’m tempted to try out some of their other products too, maybe something that’ll get read of these dang stretchmarks!
I’m going to keep on using the serum, because so far it looks like it’s starting to do what’s promised, and I’m definitely looking forward to see if it provides me with any long term results. Plus, it’s odorless, light and absorbs quickly, so you’re not left with any sort of smell or greasy feeling after applying the Vitamin C&C Facial Serum.
**Tip** To help keep your skin looking good, you can apply Vitamin C&C Facial Serum to wrinkle-prone areas before going out in the sun (underneath your sunscreen, of course).
FYI, Janson Beckett is also animal-friendly, and they don’t test their products on animals. For more information about Janson Beckett and their line of dermatologist recommended skin care products, please visit their website: http://www.Janson-Beckett.com.

This is a good idea but I’m one of those firm believers that it’s better just to stay nutritious and let fruits and such serve as vitamin c. good to know about such products though
